Vietnamese folk tales can be gory but this lovely edition of the Cuoi tale managed to keep the essence while making it light and positive. I’m so glad that it’s been adapted to be developmentally appropriate for even the little children. It’s one of the few bi-lingual books that my children enjoy, and I love that now it will be part of the Mid Autumn tradition for us!
I also lent the book to my daughters’ school during Mid autumn week. The teachers read it to their preschool and lower grade students and they also enjoyed it very much. I’m glad we have such a book to introduce Vietnamese culture to my daughters’ American friends!
